Aqualetics course principles

The following course principles serve to create an optimal learning environment for all children’s course participants.

Safety

  • The current protection concept applies.
  • Course participants may only enter the pool area if at least one Aqualetics Coach is present.
  • Jewellery and similar accessories must be removed before starting the swimming lesson (risk of injury).
  • The person accompanying the child is responsible for the child before and after the lesson.
  • Photos, videos and media recordings inside and outside the pool area are not allowed.

Hygiene

  • Food is only allowed on the pool area with the consent of Aqualetics staff.
  • The dressing rooms are not very big. The cloakroom and showers are there for changing and showering and not as a place to stay. Please leave the changing room as soon as possible.

Optimal learning environment

  • Learning to swim is also possible without swimming goggles. Swimming goggles are allowed.
  • A hair band is recommended for longer hair. The hair can be tied back and does not disturb the face when swimming. A swimming cap would of course help even better.
  • We recommend that the children’s course participants wear normal swimming trunks and bathing costumes. Bikinis are not recommended. Surfer shorts are not suitable and not allowed.

Lesson plan

  • The children course participants meet unshowered in the pool area just before the start of the lesson. The location will be communicated in the first lesson.
  • The accompanying person can accompany the child to swimming lessons. However, as the area is small, it is not possible to have more than one accompanying person.
  • The accompanying person must follow the instructions of Aqualetics personnel.
  • The accompanying person must remain inconspicuous. Our aim is that the children can concentrate on the lesson to the maximum during the lesson.

Final lesson

  • The Aqualetics coaches constantly and discreetly monitor the achievement of objectives, performance and progress of the children’s course participants throughout the course.
  • The final lesson serves as a final assessment of the child’s position and as a course completion ritual. Whether a level is passed in the final lesson is by far not only based on the findings of the final lesson, but is a sum of the findings of all course lessons.
  • Aqualetics takes the control of the achievement of objectives very seriously. A child must have achieved the course objectives in order to move up a level. Reason: the significance of the awards is of great relevance for the child, the legal guardian and the subsequent Aqualetics Coach.
  • For final lessons, swimming experts can be called in to provide an objective assessment of the achievement of objectives.

Environmentally conscious

  • Aqualetics acts environmentally conscious. We ask all users of the pool area to pay attention to the water consumption when showering and to behave in an environmentally friendly way.

Follow-up registration

  • A child course participant is not automatically registered for the next course. The general registration deadline applies.

You will find all other provisions and regulations in our general terms and conditionsand the bathing regulations (notice pool area).

Quality and Safety

A safe learning environment, highly trained Aqualetics coaches and a maximum number of children per course are the basis for learning progress and smiling children’s eyes at Aqualetics.

Fun in the water

Our courses combine fun with ambitions. At Aqualetics your child will experience varied and targeted course lessons.

Years of experience

We at Aqualetics bring years of experience in swimming and aqua sports to every lesson. You and your child benefit from a unique team.

Modern course structure

Aqualetics works with the Swiss Swimming Kids training system, which is based on the latest sports educational knowledge.

Modern swimming lessons for children in Basel

Some children find it difficult to learn to swim. Sometimes the fear of water is great or the children only come into contact with the water at a late stage. It doesn’t have to be that way. Children learn to swim with ease – with the sophisticated courses from Aqualetics according to the Swiss Swimming Kids System! This system adapts perfectly to the abilities of your child. It doesn’t matter whether it’s about getting used to the water for the first time or about perfecting the swimming technique of a little “fish”. The course system of Aqualetics in Basel offers the right training approach for every skill profile!

The Swiss Swimming Kids Program

The Swiss Swimming Kids Program allows adaptation to the individual abilities of each child. Non-swimmers can playfully overcome their fear of water and deep water, while advanced children can practice breaststroke, backstroke, freestyle and later even butterfly swimming.

Basically the training is divided into two levels, Basic and Advanced. There is also a Specific level above this. Basic teaches basic techniques and self-confidence in the water, Advanced deals with advanced swimming techniques.

Swimming is a technically challenging sport, with mere strength only little success is possible. That is why we focus on laying a solid foundation of swimming techniques right from the start. This includes the correct breathing technique, gliding in the water and the correct arm guidance depending on the type of swim.

Pedagogical teaching of swimming competence

Every child can learn to swim. The only thing that is fatal is too much ambition and too little patience. Every child has its own pace of learning. The knowledge of this is one of the elementary pedagogical components of our swimming training, the child is individually challenged. This also includes that our swimming courses take place mainly in small groups. In the basic courses up to level 4 there are only 6 children per course, in the higher levels 8 children. This makes it possible for our experienced coaches to keep an eye on each child at all times and coordinate training tasks if necessary. Tests are organically integrated into the course of the swimming exercises, thus avoiding the build-up of excessive pressure situations.
