Kids swimming with success

Swimming lessons for Kids

For children, it is important to get familiarized with water early on in order for self-rescue skills to be achieved as quickly as possible and for children to be able to move independently in the water without fear but a lot of joy. Aqualetics works with the Swiss Swimming Kids education system of the Swiss Swimming Federation. The concept is based on the latest sports pedagogical findings and guides children from getting used to water to mastering the four water sports: swimming, diving, synchronized swimming or water polo.

Aqualetics Kids’s Courses – in a nutshell

  • Maximum 6 kids per coach
  • Holistic lesson approach – in the water, as on land

Aqualetics course principles
The following course principles provide an optimal learning environment for all kids’s students..

Safety

  • Students may enter the swimming pool only if at least one Aqualetics coach is present in the pool area.
  • Female and male users use separate wardrobes and toilets. Excepted are children up to the age of 6 years.
  • Jewellery and similar accessories must be removed before starting the swimming lesson (risk of injury).
  • The child’s companion is responsible for the child before and after the lesson.
  • Photos, videos and media footage in the swimming pool and outside the swimming pool are not allowed.

Hygiene

  • Food is not allowed in the swimming pool or in the changing room.
  • The changing rooms are not very big. The changing rooms and showers are for changing and showering and not intended as a place to stay. Please leave the changing room as soon as possible.

Optimal learning environment

  • Learning to swim is possible without swimming goggles. Swimming goggles are allowed.
  • For longer hair, a hair band is recommended. The hair can be tied back and should not disturb the face while swimming. Of course a swim cap would be even a better solution. < li>
  • We recommend that children wear normal swimming trunks and bathing suits. Bikinis are not recommended. Surfershorts are not suitable and not allowed.

Lessons

  • Kids’s students meet in the swimming pool just before the beginning of the lesson. The place will be communicated in the first lesson.
  • During the first and last lesson, an accompanying person (only in bathing / sports clothes) may accompany the child to the swimming pool and be present during the lesson in the swimming pool (watch).
  • From the first lesson to the second-last lesson, the escorts are no longer allowed to be present in the swimming pool. Two reasons: First, Aqualetics wants to provide the child with an optimal learning environment, with little distraction from many viewers. Second, the swimming pool is relieved.

Last Lesson

  • The Aqualetics coaches constantly and discreetly monitor the achievement, performance and progress of the kids’s students throughout the course.
  • The final lesson serves to finalise the position of the child and as a course completion ritual. Whether or not a student passes the final exam is not just based on the final lesson, but is the sum of the performance from all the lessons.
  • Aqualetics takes the performance review of goal achievement very seriously. A child must have reached the course goals so that it can go one level further. Reason: The meaningfulness of the awards is of great relevance for the child, the parents and the following Aqualetics coach.
  • For final lessons, swimming experts can be consulted to assess the objective review of the achievement of goals.

Environmentally friendly

  • Aqualetics acts environmentally conscious. We ask all users of the swimming pool to pay attention to the water consumption when showering and to behave fundamentally environmentally friendly.

Follow-Registration

  • A student is not automatically registered for the next class. The general registration deadline applies.

All other terms and conditions can be found in our Terms & Conditions , Ordinance on the Use of the Indoor Swimming Pool and the rules to use the pool (posted at the changing room entrance).

Our courses combine fun with sporting ambitions. Your child will experience at Aqualetics varied and targeted lessons.

Years of experience

At Aqualetics, we bring years of experience in swimming and aqua sports into every class lesson. You and your child benefit from a unique team./p>

Moderne course structure

Aqualetics works with the Swiss Swimming Kids education system, which builds on the latest sports education findings.

Modern swimming lessons for children in Basel

Some children find swimming difficult. Sometimes the fear of the water is great or the children come into contact with the water late. It does not have to be that way. Children learn how to swim in a playful way – with the ingenious courses of Aqualetics according to the Swiss Swimming Kids System! This system adapts perfectly to the abilities of your child. It does not matter if it is about the first getting used to water, or about perfecting the swimming technique of a small “water rat”. In the course system of the swimming school in Basel you will find the right training approach for every skill profile!

The Swiss Swimming Kids System

The Swiss Swimming Kids System allows the adaptation to the individual abilities of each child. Non-swimmers are playfully taken with the fear of water and deep water, while advanced children can practice chest, back, crawl and later even dolphin swimming.

Basically, the training is divided into two levels, Basic and Advanced. Above that there is the Specific level. Basic teaches basic techniques and self-awareness in the water. Advanced deals with advanced swimming techniques.

Swimming is a technically challenging sport, with mere strength little success is possible. That’s why from the very beginning we set a solid foundation for swimming techniques. These include, for example, the correct breathing technique, the gliding in the water and the correct arm guidance depending on the type of swimming.

Pedagogical mediation of swimming skills

Every child can learn to swim. Fatal is just too much ambition and too little patience. Every child has its own pace of learning. The knowledge therefore belongs to the elementary pedagogical components of our swimming training, the child is demanded individually. This also includes that our swimming lessons take place mainly in small groups. In the basic courses up to level 4, these are only 6 children per course, in the higher levels 8 children. This makes it possible for our experienced coaches to keep an eye on each child at all times and, if necessary, to coordinate training tasks. Tests are organically integrated in the course of the swimming exercises, so the construction is avoided to large pressure situations.
